My Month Of Impact! Mt5:16

What do we think about every time we wake up in the morning?
What crosses our minds when we think about the future?
How do we see our lives in a few years?
What are our dreams?
Everything revolves around us and our well-being.
We are always planning our days according to us, we think about our work, our homes, our health, our affairs before even thinking of God, before praying, before thinking of the work of God.
We are always looking to our interests, our human hearts push us to fulfill our desires in the first place.
A story in the Bible will call out to us all.
A disciple of the Lord preferred to go and bury his father who had died before coming to serve Jesus.
He did not look at his salvation, he did not think of his restoration and his call, he did not see the contribution of Jesus concerning him, he did as all of us, we would have done, follow our desires and our lusts of the flesh, to satisfy the eyes of men.
And Serepta’s widow was embarrassed when Elijah asked her to cook for her when she had nothing left during the time of famine.
The widow is in a situation of distress, she has just a little flour and a little oil but she has to give it to the servant of God and may die afterwards with her son.
Who among us could sacrifice our last meal during such a delicate and sensitive time.
This widow was in a very distressing moment, no hope after this provision.
If it was us, we would have criticized this man of God, we would have been very angry, but this woman thinks of the Lord before thinking of her and her son.
God must be our priority.
It is not our interests that should be important but those of God.
And this is the instruction of the day from Philippians, 2:21 – all, indeed, seek their own interests, and not those of Jesus Christ.
May the interest of Christ become your priority.
The verse does not excuse anyone, it indexes us all, it calls out to all of us who are quick to run for our safety, for our standing and our comfort.
Let’s stop looking for our pleasures, let’s run towards truth and holiness.
We will benefit from following God’s counsel to seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness first, and all things will be given to us above all.
So let’s leave the distraction, focus on serving God and we will be rewarded.
Hello everyone
Have a good day
