My Month Of Peace ! Jn14:27

Forgiveness is a word that we like to say and we don’t even realise how much.
Forgiveness which we like to advise others to do and which we are unable to do.
The Forgiveness that opens your sky and which we do not know how to use properly.
This morning, we want to rely on it and the Lord strongly recommends it to us.
The Bible tells us that Ammon, David’s eldest son, is deeply in love with his half-sister Tamar, the sister of Absalom, David’s son.
Unable to contain himself and his urges, he and his cousin Jonadab set up an irreparable scene.
Ammon feigns an illness and Tamar, his sister, takes care of him.
Tamar is a young virgin, beautiful and dignified, but her life will be shattered.
Her half-brother rapes her, disgraces her, humiliates her and then drives her away.
Against all odds, David, their father, takes this situation lightly and unwittingly encourages the catastrophe.
David, their Father refuses to take responsibility and Absalom, exasperated, harbours thoughts of murder and revenge.
He will take two years to execute his plan.
Can we see what unforgiveness can do?
We are not saying that what Ammon did was right, we are saying that unforgiveness can cause us to do damage.
Unforgiveness breaks us and turns us into another person.
Here is a family that knows God but has been separated from God by unforgiveness.
Unforgiveness ages us and robs us of our blessings.
Many of us Christians have locked our families, friends and neighbours in our hearts, we may be with them, we may talk to them, we may even pray with them but we resent them, we don’t like them, we can’t even stand them.
Pride too is a problem that keeps us unforgiving.
We have two choices to make when we are diminished: *either forgive or rebel.
Unforgiveness keeps us in bondage, takes away our peace.
Asking for forgiveness is not always easy, but the Lord tells us to do it.
Colossians 3:13 – Bear with one another, and if one has cause to complain about the other, forgive one another. As Christ forgave you, so forgive one another.
Forgive countless times!
This is not a plea, it is a command.
We are different from each other and we must learn to forgive and love each other.
In a church, the Lord has called different people together and put them into one family to form one body.
It may happen that we disagree, we must be able to forgive each other and imitate perfect forgiveness.
Let us not waste time holding grudges and bitterness in our hearts.
Forgiveness sets us free and gives us peace, let us not forget it.
Good morning to all
Good day to you
