Beloved, each of us gives off a scent of his own.
Our actions have a smell and can affect, stink those around us or the place where we are.
Sin has an odor,
Our words have a smell.
Our history has a smell.
Our testimony has a smell.
Our prayers have a smell.
Our walk with God has an odor.
Our attitude and our character have a smell.
The bible tells us that Abel’s sacrifice rose to God as a sweet-smelling perfume and Cain’s was bad.
Our scent identifies us, our scent speaks for us, our scent attracts blessings.
The word of God in Genesis, 27:27 – Jacob came near and kissed him. Isaac smelled the smell of his clothes; then he blessed him, and said, Behold, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field which Yahweh has blessed.
Isaac sniffed Jacob’s garment, he used his nose to recognize his son when he was blind.
When the Lord blesses us, our smell is different, our smell is bright, our smell influences families, cities, countries.
Here is a Jacob who is blessed, and his smell is like that of provision, satisfaction, success.
He is not an ordinary son, he carries the seed of prosperity and his scent alone is a source of blessing that will benefit more than one person, we can find out from Laban.
We are to manifest the fragrance of the likeness of Christ.
Every thought, every choice, every act is an opportunity to release the good smell.
Let the spirit of God lead our thoughts, our words, then we can produce and spread a good smell around us.
The scriptures say that we will be recognized by our fruits, by the smell that we give off.
There are people who do a lot of things, who invest themselves, who are even generous but their smell is not pleasant, they spread the smell of death, failure, destruction, sterility.
This morning, God is not talking to us about the perfume that we buy and change as we please and according to our wallet, he is not talking about the one we all have in our homes that satisfies our appearance and seduces the world.
It is not about our personal smell but about the spiritual one.
We are the good smell of Christ, and we owe it to ourselves to nurture it, to water it, and above all to make a sacrifice to seal it.
To have a good smell is to have intimacy with God, it is to go into deep waters, it is to laze the secrets of God, it is to have the smell of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.
So it is important today to ask ourselves if we have a good smell? What if the places of our churches smell good?
Let us understand that it is by the offering of our body, of our being, as a living sacrifice that will be pleasing to God, it is not by celebrating Sunday but by leading a life delivered on the altar, a total consecration, a whole commitment that we will satisfy God.
A smell can be attractive or repellent.
It causes feelings of acceptance or rejection, it can please or displease our neighbor.
Our scent is our aura, our personality, our identity, our imprint, our brand.
It is our life and our beauty, it is a symbol, it is an alliance, an assurance, a security.
Do not falsify our scent, it is God who deposits his favor in us and it all depends on how our hearts are arranged and where we are.
2 Corinthians, 2:15 – We are, indeed, to God the good odor of Christ, among those who are saved and among those who perish:
Always spray the good odor of Christ anywhere you find yourself.
We are the good smell of Christ and that is what differentiates us from the unconscious.
Father, once again, touch us, establish your kingdom in our lives and deliver us.
May the honor be yours alone.
Hello friends
Have a good day
