Today’s instruction asks us to celebrate God with our riches.
It means that we have to give and it is the word that many do not like to hear.
When the word * give * comes into play, prejudices and criticism also arise.
We start to think that we haven’t even finished managing back to school yet, we think about our rents and our unresolved issues.
The truth is, it is the offering that connects us to the blessing.
We cannot say that we love if we do not know how to give.
The bible tells us that God loved the world so much that he gave his unique, which was precious to him.
We are stewards of our assets, it is God who gave us what we have, it is He who made it possible for us to have these possessions.
Abraham understood the principles, he was all the time building altars and making offerings, he knew how to recognize that it is God who rewards him, he was grateful every time.
One day another servant found himself without strength, empty, lacking in intelligence to manage his kingship and he told himself that he will apply the principles, he not only build the temple of God with now everywhere, and then he sacrificed thousands of oxen to the Lord,
Can we imagine what it cost him?
Can we estimate the value of this offering?
But Solomon did not look at that, he understood that for the Lord to be touched and to feel loved, he had to strip himself, he had to kill his emotions, his plans to satisfy the King of kings.
Do not keep our goods to give, gold and silver belong to God, he is the one who watches over us, he is the one who rewards us,
Do not fear when we are in his presence,
Do not calculate when we have to get involved in a task in his house.
Deuteronomy 16:17 – Everyone will give what he can, according to the blessings which the LORD your God has given him.
Bless the Lord according to your wealth.
Give according to what we have received from God,
Give what we can
Give without regret,
Give with joy,
Give with a willing heart,
Give generously,
Give of what you need,
Give to whoever asks us,
Give liberally to the Lord.
Bless the Lord
Bless Yaweh
