Rehoboam, you are a leader, the successor of your father, the heir to the throne of David.
You are the next king of Israel, the one who will reign after Solomon.
You are young but you have to adapt and start behaving like a manager.
Many people are watching you, many people are counting on you, many people are hoping to see you change things and refine them for the better, many are hoping that you will better understand the problems of young people and their realities and you will give a smile.
Rehoboam, do you think the throne is fun?
Do you think ruling is doing what you want when you want?
You are an authority but you are not ready to be a king, you do not want to enjoy and awaken the leader who sleeps in you.
You are the king of a blessed land, you are supposed to serve the God of Israel and these people know that God has always been present in their lives.
What lesson do you want to give them?
Do you want the youth to follow Jesus or that he perish in disorder?
It’s your responsibility, Rehoboam.
You need advice, Israel has experienced painful slavery and part of the people are rising to protest.
Rehoboam is recommended for old people, rich in experience.
For them, the king should be flexible and create a peaceful atmosphere.
But the king, immature, inexperienced, takes the advice of young people who advise him to adopt a harsh, authoritarian, unreasonable attitude.
And that’s how the people rebel.
Rehoboam, are you aware of the impact
Rehoboam, are you aware of the impact of your behavior towards young people who want to copy you?
You are a role model for some people, you have to be careful, young king.
Also, Moses, another leader, the liberator of Israel is strangled, he carries on his shoulders the burdens and the stress of the people.
It is he who must consecrate and sanctify himself for the Lord, he must always be available to listen to divine instructions.
But only Moses wears himself out when he can train others and unburden himself.
Everything revolves around him and that’s why Jethro advises to delegate and to be interested, to care about higher things.
The people under Moses’ charge are numerous and Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, supports him.
The people sometimes resist Moses, to whom they must avoid exposing themselves to anything.
A leader is someone who knows how to trust and delegate,
he must know how to choose capable men, fearing God, men of integrity.
A leader does not disperse, he is focused on his role and on his objectives.
A leader spares himself, we are not strong enough, resistant enough and even, God asks us to take a rest to recharge our batteries.
Jethro tells Moses to watch out or he won’t get far at this pace and to reconsider his commitments.
A leader knows how to organize himself to lead better.
Jethro is on the road to Moses to advise him.
He must train others and give the relay to relieve himself and better reign.
Exodus, 18:20 – Teach them ordinances and laws; and let them know the way they should go, and what they should do.
Pray to become a leader for young converts.
Moses, give the responsibilities to others and let God do the rest.
A leader looks only to the Lord, he alone is able to renew and restore us.
Hello people of God
Have a good day
