At one point in our lives, we used to get up very early in the morning to have intimacy with the Lord, but for some time now we haven’t been able to do that.
We had made a resolution to stay in God’s presence for at least an hour each time, but we couldn’t keep it up for three months.
We made a vow to the Lord to intercede for the men of God in our town, but we haven’t been able to achieve what we wanted to see.
We seek God when it suits us, we cling to the Lord when our interests are at stake,
we take time for praise and prayer to give him the glory because we want a promotion, a blessing, a trip…
We don’t bow down because we love Jesus, we don’t lie at his feet because we want to get to know him, we are there for what he gives us and not for what he is.
Many have made promises when they were stuck in a situation, but alas.
Many do not have a prayer life,
they start their day without recommending them to the Lord,
They take the risk of travelling without asking for divine protection,
they lead their lives without knowing God’s will for them.
We want to do as we please and that’s not how it works with God,
we have to keep our commitments.
We can’t maintain a prayer life when we ourselves are unbelievers, we find that God takes too long to answer us and we look around worriedly or we cut ourselves short.
Beloved, having a prayer life is a lifestyle.
It means maintaining a relationship with God,
It means inviting God into our lives,
It’s about putting God’s mind at rest in our hearts,
It’s deciding to honour our Dad.
Let’s stop letting ourselves be distracted,
Let’s stop giving priority to vain things.
The enemy keeps us heavy because he wants to extinguish our prayer life,
We refuse to overturn the flesh in favour of our soul, and the consequences are spiritually disastrous.
The enemy infiltrates, drains us and steals our strength,
our energy,
our anointing,
our grace,
our vigour,
our deposit…
So this morning we pray to each other to strengthen our prayer lives,
To come out of the slackness that plagues our lives.
The Bible says that it is while we sleep,
while we are at rest,
in idleness,
that the enemy comes to sow tares in our field.
Let us be constant in our intimacy,
Let us be serious in our love affair,
Let our spouse teach us his ways.
Let us learn to please him.
Colossians, 4:2 – Persevere in prayer, watch over it with thanksgiving.
Pray for a stable prayer life.
Let us not seek the Lord today, tomorrow we will be with the enchanters.
Let us insist,
Let us insist,
Pray when things are going well,
pray when things go wrong,
Let us pray at all times,
Nothing on this earth should prevent us from leading a life of prayer.
It is in prayer that we achieve victory; when we are engaged in a battle, we win it by fighting it in prayer.
Let’s be alert and on the alert.
Gratitude makes us aware of God’s love.
The Lord reveals himself where prayer is established.
Let’s try to stand in the breach.
Good day to you all
Good day to you all
