Thanksgiving is an act of gratitude to God from the heart, expressed in actions and words.
The Lord never ceases to do us favours, and in return he expects us to show him our thanks.
He teaches us that our gratitude bears glorious fruit.
When Jesus went to the tomb of Lazarus, who had been dead for four days, in the presence of Martha and Mary, his sisters in deep grief, Jesus began by telling them that he was grateful to them.
To their astonishment, Jesus began by giving thanks to the Father,
It was thanksgiving that triggered the miracle.
A good lesson in faith, he magnified God’s power and affirmed that even in times of mourning, we must not cease to give thanks for his love.
Jesus wanted to show us that thanksgiving precedes God’s intervention.
Let us not be the children of God who only recognise him when they want a blessing,
we have to give thanks in good times and bad.
Let us try what the Word of God suggests.
Let our tongues never stop saying thank you to the Lord,
It would be an abomination not to acknowledge God’s grace in our lives,
It would be scandalous not to have a heart of gratitude for all that God does to keep us alive and healthy.
As Christians, let us follow in the Lord’s footsteps and bless him.
1 Timothy, 2:1 – I exhort therefore, before all things, that prayers, supplications, supplications, thanksgiving, be made for all men,
May Thanksgiving always be a part of your Christian life.
Thanksgiving is not optional, it’s compulsory.
We all need to be able to stop and say thank you to the Lord.
Paul is giving us this advice today, so let’s make sure we do it.
Good day to you all
Good day to you
