Ah si seulement… a word that refers to things we regret, things we wish we’d done differently.
There are so many things we’d like to erase and do differently, but alas…
Do we have things we regret today?
Did we waste our time and energy chasing goals that weren’t worth the effort?
Have we wronged someone?
We have many reasons to feel regret for tragic mistakes or serious sins.
What do we regret personally?
Paul made mistakes in his life, but he also made good decisions.
He regretted what he had done in the past, but he also learnt to serve God to the best of his ability.
Saul was committed to Judaism and felt it was his duty before God to destroy Christianity.
Saul intended to go to Damascus to drag Jesus’ disciples away from their homes and to Jerusalem to expose them to the wrath of the Sanhedrin.
As he went, Jesus stood in his way and blinded him with a supernatural light.
Paul was grateful to the Lord for treating him with mercy and he wanted to do everything possible to ensure that God did not feel that he had granted him undeserved favour in vain.
Let’s not let our past faults weigh us down so much that we think we are worthless in God’s eyes.
Philippians, 3:13 – Brethren, I do not think that I have grasped it, but one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and moving forward to what is ahead,
Pray that you may continue to move forward, without regret, in the path of God.
Paul has not yet extinguished righteousness and perfection in the service of the Lord, but he works every day to improve himself in order to break the chairs of captivity and above all by becoming more attached to the Lord, and by making the work of God and his kingdom a priority.
Like Paul, let us all make the decision to return to the Lord and truly dedicate ourselves to him.
Good day to you all
Good day to you all
