My Month Of Mercy! Lc1:50

Beloved, one day the Lord wanted to do us good.
He wanted to take us to the other side, so some of us had to go and explore the land of Canaan that the Lord is giving us as an inheritance.
In order to have a relevant and objective opinion, the Lord wanted each family to be represented.
Unfortunately, after this experience, we returned discouraged, disarmed, frightened, plaintive, afraid…
We were intimidated by what our eyes saw and we rejected the Lord’s promise.
Two of us, Caleb and Joshua, were confident and motivated us in vain.
Instead, we murmured against Aaron and Moses, our leaders and pastors,
we began to blame them, we began to regret listening to them,
we despised them and very quickly forgot that they had helped us,
that they took risks for us,
that they made enormous sacrifices so that we could be happy.
We went too far, we didn’t stop at blaming our authorities, we turned to God and reminded him of his ineffectiveness.
We let him know that it is not he who reigns in our lives and in our problems; we defied the Lord’s authority and wanted to take the reigns ourselves.
Despite negotiations, we continued in our rebellion and spat on Yaweh’s offer.
God disappointed by our behaviour,
disgusted by our ingratitude,
amazed at our forgetfulness in the face of all the wonders and miracles he had performed among us, decided to put an end to the story by striking us down with the plague,
destroying us and later making Moses a greater and more powerful nation than we are.
Our man of God Moses began to intercede with the Lord in spite of our contempt,
he began to implore the Lord’s mercy.
He reminded the Lord that the Egyptians who feared him would now doubt him and say that it was because he did not have the power to lead this people into the land he had sworn to give them,
that’s why he slaughtered them in the desert.
Moses reminded the Lord of his loving and merciful nature.
The Lord, who is slow to anger and rich in kindness, agreed to forgive us as Moses asked.
It was God’s mercy that ensured that Moses was listened to and heard.
That’s what we’re talking about this morning.
Pray that God’s will make him listen to you and answer you.
Psalms, 27:7 – Hear my voice, O LORD, I cry to you: have mercy on me and hear me.
Lord, forgive our transgressions,
Don`t let us fall,
Let our words come to you as we repent.
We are at your feet to beg you, may your compassionate heart be on our behalf so that we may be satisfied.
We bless you Father, may the glory be yours, Yaweh.
