Hezekiah became king, and did that which was right in the eyes of The LORD, according to all that David his father had done.
He called for the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together in the east square, and said to them, “Listen to me, Levites. Now sanctify yourselves, sanctify the house of The LORD, the God of your fathers, and put the unclean thing out of the sanctuary.
For our fathers have sinned, and have done evil in the sight of the LORD our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the tent of the LORD, and have turned their backs on him.
They even shut the doors of the porch and put out the lamps, and they offered neither incense nor burnt offering in the sanctuary to the God of Israel.
Therefore the anger of The LORD was on Judah and Jerusalem, and he gave them up to trouble and desolation and mockery, as you see with your eyes.
So I intend to make a covenant with the Lord, the God of Israel, that his fierce anger may be turned away from us.
Now, my sons, dont be negligent; for you have been chosen by the Lord to stand before him, to be his servants, and to burn incense to him. Even when Sancherib came to fight Israel, Hezekiah did not allow himself to be intimidated and he encouraged the people to stand firm, not to fear anything, not to be afraid before the king of Assyria, because with them there are more than with the multitude that is with him. At one point in his life, Hezekiah was sick to death. He prayed to the Lord, and the Lord spoke to him and gave him a sign. But Hezekiah didn
t respond to the blessing he had received, for his heart was lifted up; and the anger of The LORD was on him, on Judah, and on Jerusalem.
Then Hezekiah, out of his pride, became reconciled to the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and the wrath of the Lord didn`t come on them during the lifetime of Hezekiah.
It was the Lord’s mercy that brought healing to the king’s life.
When we also walk in the steps of the Lord, he grants us long life and firm health.
He binds up our wounds and heals us of our sores.
So, like this king, let us return to humble ourselves at the feet of our master.
It is in submission that God’s mercy works,
it is in humility that grace works for us,
it is in brokenness that we have access to favour.
In the midst of unimaginable suffering,
in the midst of incurable illness, we all need the fresh anointing to come to our aid for certain restoration.
Pray that the Lord will have mercy on you and give you divine health.
Psalms, 6:3 – Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am without strength; heal me, O Lord, for my bones tremble.
It is the Lord in his love who heals.
Let us not rely on our wealth, nor on our relationships because many are stuck in hospital beds or lying in mortuaries with full accounts.
So let us know that the only guarantee we have of good health is God’s mercy.
Let us implore him in the day of our distress, and he will grant us the health that mankind, with all its high technology, cannot provide.
Good day to you
Good day to you
