My Month Of Prosperity! 3Jn1:2

Every time a blessing knocks on our door, we become other people,
Every time we receive God’s visitation, we think we can control the world,
Every time God’s grace locates us and heaven is opened over our heads, we always want to pretend that we deserve what we have more than others,
Whenever promotion comes our way or our position changes, we no longer want advice because we think we have arrived.
Let’s just look at the men of God who were available for souls, who loved and served God, who were always hiding in God’s presence but once the Lord changed the face of their ministries, they are on their phones when God is being worshipped, they are at home when the service has begun and only arrive to go up to the altar to preach, they no longer have time to care for souls, they are no longer able to bow down and humble themselves before God because they think they have fulfilled their dreams.
Beloved, riches sometimes make us foolish, they lose us and turn us away from the vision of the Father.
Many times we have thought that without us, without our possessions, nothing can be done, nothing can advance, we see our possessions as the fruit of our efforts and we no longer fear God, we no longer go to Communion, we are busy with other things.
This is the case of a king in the Bible, whose name was Hezekiah; and he gave audience to the messengers, and showed them the place where his precious things were, the silver and the gold, the spices and the precious oil, his armoury, and all that was in his treasures: there was nothing that Hezekiah didn`t show them in his house and in all his domains.* And when the prophet Isaiah asked the king, “What have they seen in your house?
When the prophet Isaiah asked the king, “What did they see in your house?
Hezekiah answered: *They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing in my treasures that I have not shown them.
And Isaiah the prophet prophesied, saying, Behold, the time shall come, that all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up to this day, shall be carried to Babylon; and there shall be nothing left, says the Lord.
*And they shall take of your sons who have gone forth from you, whom you have begotten, to make them eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
Hezekiah was blessed, God had made his kingship firm and prosperous, he made the works of the king’s hands prosperous instead of giving glory to the Lord, he brought foreigners to boast of his heritage, so that men would honour and exalt him.
Even Herod did the same thing, On an appointed day Herod, clothed in his royal robes and seated on his throne, harangued them publicly.
*The people cried out: The voice of a god, not of a man!
*At the same time an angel of the Lord struck him, because he had not given glory to God. He died of worms.
God rejects the proud, all those who do not know how to give place to the Lord,
all those who don’t know how to ask forgiveness,
all those who spend their time justifying themselves instead of repenting, all those who think they have achieved their glories with their own strength.
Let’s listen to what the Lord says today:
Deuteronomy, 8:17 – Beware of saying in your heart, “My strength and the power of my hand have made me rich.
Pray that you will not glory in God’s place.
When we begin to think that it is our intelligence, our prayer life, our relationships that have given us success while forgetting that it is God who has given us the grace to acquire these gifts,
that it is he who opens the doors for us.
And we fall into the enemy’s traps and fail to bear witness to God’s blessings in our lives.
Let’s be careful with our thoughts, our actions and our words, always seeking humility.
