My Month Of Testimonies! Ps75:9

When we are appointed as witnesses, it means that we only report what we have seen and heard, what we know.
We must be those whose sincerity and truthfulness are paramount.
Jesus is the truth and all those who believe in him will stand on his side.
Today, it is easier for us to distort the truth.
We bear false witness in many ways.
Peter, who had walked a long way with Jesus, denied him.
At a time when Jesus was in a difficult situation,
at a time when love and compassion should be taking over our hearts, we chose to lie.
We refused to assume our identity in order to preserve our lives.
We put ourselves on the side of the world to escape judgement,
to avoid persecution, and we chose to stand on hot coals.
The Bible also tells us about the people of Israel who despised Moses.
Moses was the one God commissioned to bring Israel out of Egypt.
He gave up everything,
He left everything to devote himself to God’s work.
One day, while Moses was on the mountain to receive from God, to intercede for his flock, to negotiate blessings and receive divine instructions for what was to come.
But in Israel’s impatience and unbelief, he rejected Moses.
They couldn’t wait for him to come down from the mountain and a campaign of sabotage began among the people until they agreed to make an idol for themselves.
As Christians, we must defend the truth and avoid spreading slander.
In all cases, the Lord wants to teach us integrity and loyalty.
We easily get on the other side when our interests are threatened,
when evil thoughts poison our souls and we give in to sin.
Here is today’s instruction.
Pray not to bear false witness.
Deuteronomy 17:6 – He who deserves death shall be put to death on the testimony of two or three witnesses; he shall not be put to death on the testimony of one witness.
The passage urges us to make an important decision after hearing several versions of a fact.
One person’s word is not authoritative because we men are not faithful.
Our hearts are not pure and that is why every word must be weighed, shaken, measured and discerned to be able to affirm its truthfulness.
So let us pray that our mouths honour the Lord.
Good day to you all
Good day to you all
