1Thessalonians 5:19 – Do not extinguish the Spirit.
Pray to keep the Spirit of God awake in you.
God challenges us once again this morning.
He himself has found that with time we cool down, we lose our zeal, our fervor and we become insensitive to the spirit of God.
Let us know this morning that the presence of God is what keeps us up.
At a stage of our lives, we think that God has changed, that he does not intervene, that he is indifferent to our situations, that he is unaware of what is happening, that he is far from our realities .
The Bible tells us that God does not sleep, nor sleep, it means that he watches over each of us, he is very attentive to what is happening on earth.
The verse of the day tells us about spiritual awakening, it means that we tend to fall asleep, to let ourselves be transported by nonchanlence, indolence and heaviness, we have got used to seeing our problems bigger. than what God is able to do.
A story in the Bible illustrates this exhortation.
JESUS ​​in the boat sleeping when the boat is capsizing, when everyone is in panic, Jesus is stress free but his disciples who were with him could not identify that they had special protection and relief with them, their minds were more turned towards the storm, they saw only the immensity of the problem instead of being serene, to have confidence and to be calm.
Nobody among them had the discernment to capture that Jesus is with them so they had nothing to fear.
They kept thinking about finding the solution when the solution was within reach.
God wants us to become aware of what is important to us, we allow ourselves to be too distracted by our emotions that we do not grasp the faithfulness of God.
Let’s not quench the Spirit.
Turn off = decrease, darken, weaken …
Our difficulties must not prevent us from celebrating our God, it is not because we are going through complicated times that we are going to deviate from the Lord’s way, it is not because a disease is eating away at us that God is not faithful, it is not because we were disappointed that we must let ourselves be compromised by others, it is not because the infidelity of men have broken us that we will not contemplate the holy name from the Lord.
He is faithful and his presence is with those who are connected and focused on him.
So pray to get rid of all charges that prevent us from fully praising our Father.
