The arrival of a child brings joy,
We are happy to see the fruit of our womb,
We thank the Lord daily for their protection and health.
We are constantly at the feet of the Lord, begging him to look upon them.
Having children is a blessing but we must play our part, we must guide them so that they do not also go out of the way of the Lord.
When the Lord blesses us, when He has placed fertility in us, it is for us to rejoice.
But be careful not to let our blessing take us out of the will of God.
In the Bible, we have the story of the prophet Eli, he had unruly, perverse, rebellious children.
They were considered worthless, useless children.
Hophni and Phinehas, grew up seeing their father Eli exercised in the tabernacle of God in Shiloh and were prepared to do the same.
To this service was attached the sacrifices, everyone was to lead a life of sanctification and holiness.
The sons of Eli were not prepared to submit to the qualities of a true priest.
Hophni and Phinehas practised the priesthood in a frivolous manner, and prostituted themselves at the gate of the congregation with the women, and indulged in stealing the offerings offered at the altar of God.
Eli knew that his sons were leading a bad life but he did not act rigorously to correct them and the Lord struck them dead.
Our children must be our pride,
they must make us proud, otherwise they can be an occasion for us to fall.
To be chosen by the Lord is an honour, let us not neglect the talent he has put in us.
Next to this, we have the prophet Samuel who had integrity and obeyed his father’s recommendation.
Eli was pleased with Samuel’s service and knew how to sit in the presence of the Lord to listen to him.
We need to know that what happened to Eli’s sons is a warning to all of us servants of God.
It is one thing to dedicate ourselves to the work of God, but it is another to watch over the souls of our descendants.
Many get lost,
Many slip up,
Many backslide, letting the distraction of the world rob them of their glory.
We must be sentinels for our children, the devil is on the prowl to take from us what is ours, what God has entrusted to us.
The enemy through our children wants to rob us of our joy.
Let us remain in prayer,
Let us negotiate the destiny of our descendants at the throne of grace,
Beg the Lord to give them his presence.
Our children are our heritage,
They are our joy.
They are our joy.
3 John, 1:4 – I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
Pray that your children will bring you joy.
We are thankful to the Lord when our children walk in the steps of the Lord,
We are amazed when they serve the Lord with fear and trembling,
We are happy when they go out to evangelise and win souls for the kingdom.
What can make us happy but to let the divine truth lean in our hearts.
Thank you for our children.
To you, all the glory, Father.
Good morning to all
Good day to you
