We have taken our Lord by the scruff of the neck.
When we look at the positions of others and fail to feed or clothe ourselves, we lack the courage to tell our boss about our Jesus.
We have in our minds that the rich will tell us that they are very busy,
that they have nothing to do with the word of God, that they already have everything they need.
As children of God, we put up so many barriers, we think that our authorities are not fit to listen to the word.
Their rank influences us and prevents us from proposing the Holy Scriptures.
We’re afraid they’ll judge us or reprimand us or make fun of us.
Many times we have missed opportunities because we let our flesh express itself too much.
One day, in his idle moments, David coveted Bethsheba, another man’s wife, to the point of killing her husband.
David was king and he thought that his position gave him all the rights, that he could do as he pleased.
Once Uriah was dead, Bethsheba became his official wife, but God in his omnipresence saw the scene and could not stand by and let King David know that he had sinned.
So the Lord sent the prophet Nathan to rebuke David and tell him that God was not pleased with his actions.
The psalmist did not hesitate to repent and beg God to forgive him.
Let’s imagine for a moment that Nathan had not gone to speak on behalf of the Lord and that David, sitting on his plate, did not realise the harm he was doing around him.
Nebuchadnezzar took credit for Babylon’s success despite Daniel’s warnings and was struck with madness.
Let us remember that Daniel did his part, to speak the gospel, but the other did not listen.
We also have Uzziah who was lost to pride.
Because he was king, he thought he was allowed to enter the temple to burn perfume, the most sacred act of the priesthood.
He didn’t worry about the spiritual hierarchy and took himself for the high priest.
We need the Azariah who dares to confront the king and say no.
And in his overweening ambition, God struck down the king.
So let us return to our posts, let us watch and work so that the hearts of kings may be submissive to the Lord.
We are sentinels,
we must stand in the gap and seize every opportunity to sow the word of God in people’s hearts.
Proclaim the lordship Of Jesus Christ before the authorities.
Psalms, 119:46 – I will speak of your precepts before kings, and I will not be ashamed.
Let us not hesitate any longer,
we have promised the Lord to spread the gospel everywhere,
We have made commitments before the altar,
We have made vows but we are still dragging our feet.
Kings, governments… are souls that the Lord wants to redeem and lead.
So if we refuse this mission, the Lord will claim their souls from us because we have not known how to use the gifts he has given us.
So let us put on courage and stand firm in our Christian walk.
And the Father will do the rest.
Good day to you all
