My Month Of Promotion! 1Sam2:8

While David, not yet king, is on the run, pursued by Saul, who wants to kill him, he meets a couple.
The husband’s name is Nabal, which means “foolish”, and the wife’s name is Abigail, which means “my joy is in God”.
David first meets this couple through his flock of sheep and their shepherds.
In the hills, shepherds and cattle are in danger.
David and his men will protect them.
The stay on the run becomes increasingly difficult for David and his men; they are in need.
So David sends 10 messengers to Nabal, a very wealthy owner of several hundred sheep, to ask for food for him and his men.
It’s shearing season, a time of celebration,
everyone’s happy,
there are feasts in the villagesā€¦
What David didn’t anticipate in return was the response of this man, whose character is in keeping with his first name.
Nabal replies: *Who is David? Who is this son of Jesse? Today, there are many slaves running away from their masters. Am I going to take my food, my water, the meat I prepared for my workers, and give them to you? I don’t even know where you’re from!
David’s reaction was not long in coming: he told his men:
David gives them this order: *Everyone take your sword!
Everyone puts his sword at his side, and so does David.
David does indeed take 400 men to go and exterminate Nabal and his peopleā€¦
One of Nabal’s servants, who has witnessed the scene, runs to Abigail, warning of the impending doom and asking her to do something to save them.
This is where David’s wise woman comes in, to save her people.
We can see how Abigail’s wisdom calmed King David’s anger and prevented the massacre of her people.
She chose when to tell her husband and when not to.
The next morning, when Nabal was no longer drunk, his wife told him what had happened.
He is so shocked that he remains paralyzed.
About ten days later, the Lord strikes him again, and he dies.
Proverbs, 19:10 – It is not fitting for a fool to live in delight; how much less for a slave to rule over princes!
Pray that any usurper of your glory will be deposed.
A man without understanding will not know how to savor the bounties of the Eternal,
he won’t appreciate the gifts and talents the Lord has placed in him.
So it’s not right to give children’s food to little dogs who don’t know the value of God’s love.
So we must submit to God’s will to drive out all those who rise up to steal our crown.
We must therefore strike the hand that wants to strip us of our star.
Because we are the children of light and it is we who must reign and sit at the table of the great so that our Jesus may be glorified.
So let’s stand back and watch over our destiny.
Good day to you all
Good day to you
