My Month Of Humility! Matt18:4

What really prevents us from being humble?
We have nothing that has not been given to us.
We are only stewards, but our horns are as erect as ever.
David had a strong kingdom,
he was a man of war with assured victories but he saw himself as an earthworm.
The earthworm is the image of Jesus,
he is defenceless,
anyone can crush it, knead it, trample on it…
David’s authority does not lead him astray,
He knows that he depends on the Lord and must remain submissive to him.
David brought the ark of God’s covenant up from the house of Obed Edom to the city of David amid shouts of joy.
As the bearers of the ark advanced, David sacrificed a bull and a calf.
Dressed in a linen loincloth, David danced before the Lord with all his might.
But when Michal, his wife, saw him, she despised him.
When the ark of the Lord was set up in the middle of the tent, David again offered burnt offerings and peace offerings and blessed the people.
When he returned, Michal reproached him for his attitude as king.
*David said to Michal, “Before the LORD, who chose me above your father and all his house to be ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel, before the LORD have I danced.
*I want to appear even more vile than this, and to be brought low in my own eyes; nevertheless I will be honoured by the maidens of whom you speak.
Neither our power, nor our money, nor our identity should make us reject humility.
It was the Lord who made David king in the midst of his brothers while he was behind the sheep.
It was the Lord who fought all his wars.
It was the Lord who was always with him.
Nothing must separate us from the love of God, beloved.
And that is the advice of my Yaya this day.
Philippians, 2:8 – he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Pray that nothing will make you reject humility.
In all his humiliation and suffering, Jesus did not show his greatness.
He put on his human nature and silenced his supremacy.
Jesus paid the price while refusing to claim his rights as the Son of God.
So we must all imitate our Lord by lowering ourselves.
