My Month Of Solidarity! Phil2:4

God reveals yet another side of us that we sometimes like to cover up: *selfishness
We are too focused on ourselves,
we always see ourselves as superior to others, our own interests are too high,
we value ourselves while criticising others.
Selfishness kills prayer and weakens friendships.
A selfish person has no limits,
they are ambitious
capable of crushing everything in their path to achieve their ends.
In Matthew 21, listen to another parable. There was a man, a householder, who planted a vineyard. He put a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower; then he hired it out to some vinedressers and left the country.
When harvest time came, he sent his servants to the vinedressers to receive the produce of his vineyard.
The vinedressers seized his servants, beat the one, killed the other, and stoned the third.
Then he sent other servants, many more than the first, and the vinedressers treated them in the same way.
Finally he sent his son to them, saying, “They will have respect for my son.
But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, “This is the heir; come, let us kill him and take his inheritance.
So they seized him, threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
How many times have we betrayed our neighbours to the point of killing them out of selfishness and greed?
We have not thought about the harm we must cause,
we are just interested in our profit, in our thirst to earn more money.
In any case, the Lord is challenging us this morning.
Against all forms of selfishness.
1 Corinthians, 10:24 – Let no one seek his own interest, but let everyone seek the interest of others.
We are called to greater altruism and love.
Let us care for others, let us look after others.
Let us be disciples who obey the master’s command.
Good day to you all
Have a nice day
