* Common sense * is our ability to judge well, it is to think well, to reason.
Many of us let others think for us, we think that others are better than us and have better ideas.
Common sense is a responsibility.
Let’s talk about an essential character in David’s life, a strong, admirable woman, her name is Abigail.
His meeting with David gives us hope and makes us understand that nothing is lost.
There are still thoughtful people in this rotten world.
When the men of God who secure and protect the city disappear, disorder sets in, madness gains ground in the lives of some like Nabal.
Nabal was very rich, influential, but not smart.
In his stupidity, he did not know that David was the future king of Israel and that in his humility he protected and prevented thieves from taking Nabal’s flock.
Logically, Nabal should be grateful but his heart was closed to generosity, he loved his possessions and he refused to come to the aid of David who needed food.
David under the pressure, got angry and decided to kill Nabal.
The bible says that in the midst of it all, there was Nabal’s wife, Abigail, full of common sense, with a very high judgmental spirit, who showed great courage.
Aware of the situation, she hastens to prepare a package to appease David’s anger.
While Abigail tells her husband, he goes into cardiac arrest, he dies.
To be full of common sense is to be a trustworthy person, it is to be a person who takes initiatives, it is to be a practical person, a person of value.
Psalms, 119: 66 – Teach me good sense and understanding! Because I believe in your commandments.
Ask the Lord to fill you with common sense.
Give us to discern the good from the false, reality and illusions,
Teach us to think like you, Father and renew our intelligence.
May you alone be lifted up, Lord
Hello
Have a good day
