Some people sometimes wonder how the life of Abraham can influence us?
How is it possible that after so many years, being in a century of speed, an old man like that can still impact others.
We tell ourselves in our minds that times have changed and so have mentalities, so it’s difficult to take actions without thinking, without calculating, without planning these days.
What we want to say this morning is that eternally, without faith, it is impossible to please him.
So ladies and gentlemen, faith is important to God, it is essential, he honors faith.
Abraham believed in all the promises of God, he trusted him even when everything was dark.
Abraham had lived in a remote corner for years with his family, he had never been to another place, he didn’t seem to be complaining, he was satisfied with the life he led until God came to meddle of his projects.
According to this servant’s plans, his world boiled down to his surroundings.
And now, one day, the Lord asks him to leave his comfort, his protection, his security to go to an unknown place.
It was not someone who gave him the news, it was God himself.
We may even wonder how he did to confirm that it was the voice of God.
In any case, the bible tells us that he obeyed.
How brave!
Surely people tried to discourage him, surely his family made fun of him and mistook him for a madman.
Can we imagine the frustrations, the humiliations that the decision of this man could generate?
What a risk to involve a whole family in such a crazy thing but it was his responsibility.
This news of relocating this anointed was not easy to digest even for him.
God comes along and allows Himself to turn someone’s schedule upside down without fuss.
Imagine Abraham’s stress.
How to announce to his brothers, to his wife, to his homeland that we want to go like flying and we only have one word on which we stand.
Barely the man of God that is Abraham recovers from his disturbances, the Lord wants his son, his only one, as a sacrifice.
Do we think Abraham was not in pain?
Do we think his heart was not so heavy as to suffocate him?
But it is he who is the beginning and the end who is in need so there is no hesitation to be had.
What strength!
What faith!
What obedience!
Let’s learn to obey the voice of God.
Let us learn to walk in the footsteps of the Lord.
Learn to do the will of the Father and to be pleasing to him.
If we thought for a moment that obedience does not bear fruit, that it has no impact, we are bitterly mistaken.
Let us read the profit that this brought in Genesis, 22:18 – All the nations of the earth will be blessed in your seed, because you have obeyed my voice.
Pray for the Lord to make you see the impact of your obedience.
Abraham believed in God despite the circumstances and until the end.
Through his obedience and sacrifice, he obtained promises that still resonate today.
Who does not know Abraham today?
Abraham’s blessing is generational because he had followed God’s orders, he had done everything God asked him to do, without complaining.
We are at least certain that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
What he did for Abraham, he can also do for us, he is able to bless us so that we impact others.
Hello to us
Have a good day
