Most often faced with a problem, faced with a situation, we are desperate, we are lost and we think that we are alone and that God is not with us.
We came to tell us this morning that the presence of God is with us every day even if we do not realize it.
Even if the storm is strong, Jesus is there.
In our beds, in our walks, in our difficulties, God never abandons us.
Let’s not be like the people of Israel who wanted to be like the other nations, who neglected the ark of God which accompanied them everywhere.
These people were not conscious of the spirit of God which guided them, they wanted an authority which was to direct them and which they had to see.
He doubted the Lord’s assistance at their side.
And it’s like with us, that’s how we operate.
We spend more time complaining, murmuring, criticizing than being grateful to the Lord who supports and protects us.
Peter wants to do like Jesus, he wants to walk on water but he is preoccupied with his environment, he walks towards Jesus but very quickly, he forgets that he who has all the power in his hands is with him and he panics, he falls.
How often do we forget that the Lord helps us no matter what we think?
Another story in the bible makes us understand how we don’t realize the love of God, how we don’t know the God we serve.
Jesus takes an initiative, he makes an invitation to his disciples and he asks them to cross the Sea of Galilee to go to another place.
To move is to change, to go towards the unknown, to face surprises.
What awaits the disciples is not at all enticing, the storm breaks out in the middle of the lake, it is dark and the disciples are afraid, the boat may capsize, the sea is very rough.
They are in danger and the one who is above all situations sleeps.
Jesus is sleeping, he is calm.
His sleep is undisturbed, no noise, no wind.
He has no awareness of what is happening.
But how can we panic when Jesus is with us?
Even if the Lord sleeps, his presence is our assurance.
But the disciples are not aware of this and they wake up Jesus who intervenes and puts everything in order.
Why are we afraid?
Why don’t we trust in the presence of the Lord?
Ultimately, it’s a matter of faith no matter how serious the danger.
Let us not be impressed by what we live, Let us remain in the serenity that Jesus promises us.
Psalms 138:3 – The day I called on you, you answered me, you comforted me, you strengthened my soul.
Be grateful that God has always been there for you.
No one comes into the presence of God and comes out the same.
He urges us to call on him on the day of trouble and he will answer us.
It is up to us to go to him.
hello to us
Have a good day
