When we give our lives to the Lord, many people find us strange.
Some think it is a waste, a backward step to give up everything to serve the Lord.
But the truth is that when we understand the revelation of Christ crucified, we see salvation as a covenant,
as strength,
as an asset,
as a privilege.
Every step Jesus took on the cross was a test of his love,
Every trial, every suffering urges us to detach ourselves from sin.
The Lord made himself poor; he did not come in all his glory to impress souls, he came down to our level to help us understand what salvation is all about.
Many did not receive him, many did not listen to him, some despised and rejected him.
For the Pharisees, Jesus was not the Messiah, he was a distraction, and it was in this spirit that Saul evolved.
He persecuted all those who spread the gospel.
But one day, he met this Jesus who changed his vision and chose him to be a witness to God’s love.
Saul, now Paul, is well placed to share the gospel with the Gentiles.
It’s not that he’s a saint, but it’s God’s grace that carries him and teaches him his ways.
It is with humility that Paul addresses the Corinthians to enable them to be reconciled with the kingdom of God.
So he can say in 1 Corinthians, 2:1 – For I, brethren, when I went to you, did not go with superiority of speech or wisdom to bear you witness of God.
Bear witness to the salvation that the Lord offers with humility.
Paul lowers himself before us to tell us about Jesus,
He doesn’t take himself as an example, but he wants us to understand the divine power that comes with the word.
Once we understand, we will believe and accept the salvation of our souls.
So let’s put our pride aside so that we can better appreciate salvation.
Good day to you all
