We would like to remind you once again that we are in the month of victory according to the mind of God.
We are at the end of a season and the end of something is better than its beginning.
The six months is the symbol of transition, transfer, change and the Divine Visitation.
When the Lord decides to combine Divine Visitation and victory in a time like this, we must take it seriously and be sensitive to the instructions the Lord gives us.
It’s not a request,
It is not a proposal,
nor is it a negotiation.
The Lord says that he fights for us, the Lord says that he takes control of everything that frightens us.
And we can remember a story in Israel.
Israel and the Philistines were to go to war.
While they were preparing their strategies, while they were getting ready for battle, a man from the Philistine camp stood up and offered to take the war upon himself.
His name was Goliath.
The Bible tells us that he was tall, he had a bronze helmet on his head, he wore a huge scaled breastplate, he had a leg of bronze armour, a bronze javelin on his shoulders, the weight of his spear was heavy and he had before him a person carrying his shield.
All this description tells us that the Philistine was a man of war, courageous and strong, but we can also say that everything was prepared to intimidate the opposing camp, which was Israel.
It wasn’t expected that a man would decide to go to war, so it’s normal for Israel to be fearful and worried.
Not only did Goliath look fierce, he challenged his adversary Israel.
What audacity!
What courage!
What confidence!
And the whole of Israel is in a panic, even Saul, the leader of Israel’s army, trembles, a warrior with a reputation backs down.
All because of all the pomp and circumstance that accompanies Goliath’s appearance.
Goliath understood that what the eyes see can keep us in place, in fear.
Goliath knew that men are quickly impressed by appearances and he gambled on it.
He succeeded, putting Saul and Israel in a state of fear and dread.
Every day, for forty days, Goliath came out to shout and wait to fight.
One day, David was sent by his father to take food to his three brothers who were in Saul’s army.
David was talking to his brothers when the Philistine came roaring back and all Israel fled.
David proposed to confront Goliath, while making Saul understand that the people must not be discouraged. They serve a living God who will deliver them from the hand of this Philistine.
To Goliath, David was child’s play, easy to kill, he overlooked the size of the battle and began to underestimate the child he saw.
Here’s what made the difference.
Goliath relied on his experience, his seniority, his skills, his strengths whereas David relied on the Lord, he relied on God to fight for him.
1 Samuel 17:45 – David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword, spear and javelin, and I will come against you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the army of Israel, whom you have insulted.
Always use the name of Jesus in the Battlefield.
We who invoke names that have no power in the face of adversity,
We who consult occultists when we have a difficulty and put our expectations on them,
We who say that we are very well equipped and equipped to win any battle,
We who think that nothing can happen to us because we have the necessary wealth.
We want to tell ourselves not to be Goliaths, not to look at our abilities but rather to cling to the Lord, to disarm ourselves to let Jesus glorify himself.
David had a name in his mouth, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, which Goliath did not know and insulted.
But that name gave David victory,
That name gave him glory,
That name opened the gates of royalty to him.
And what name do we pronounce all day long?
No name is above Daddy’s name.
He is the Lord of Hosts.
He masters all the strategies for battle.
He is God.
So we have a powerful weapon for this day: *the name of Jesus Christ.
Good morning Ladies and Gents
