In Luke 18:10 two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself, saying, “O God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of men, who are extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector;
I fast twice a week and tithe all my income.
The tax collector, standing at a distance, did not even lift his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, “O God, be merciful to me, a sinner.
I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
Beloved, God is not impressed by our social position, nor by our reputation, still less by our skills, all he wants is the humble state of our heart.
If we want to benefit from God’s grace, let’s learn to clothe ourselves in humility.
Let’s not be impatient with others, let’s learn to be tolerant.
Let’s stop despising others and letting ourselves be seduced by the useless things of this world.
Our daily plea this year must be to walk in humility, to let Jesus cleanse us of all insidious pride in our lives.
Pride is not something that is sometimes open, it is present in the way we think of ourselves.
Let’s be vigilant about proud thoughts, words and actions in our lives. God will withdraw from us if we don’t humble ourselves.
When we are driven by pride, we do everything on our own, with our own strength.
The desire to be rich, the desire for power or success in this world is contrary to God’s will.
These things make us proud and keep us from the presence of God.
And let’s not forget that anger, criticism of others and quarrels are expressions of pride.
It is the language of pride in our hearts.
Let us learn to rely on God; his help is a protection and an assurance.
A humble heart is always grateful.
This is a day of celebration, and our humility comes from knowing that we depend on God and that we will not fail to go into his presence to worship him and tell him who comes first.
Psalms, 138:6 – The Lord is exalted. He sees the humble, and knows the proud from afar.
Pray that you will always be part of the camp of the humble.
God is on his throne, his eyes roam over the earth that belongs to him.
Nothing escapes him, he sees all the details that we want to hide, he is omnipresent.
The Lord knows all those whose hearts are set on him; he knows all those who submit to him and obey him.
Let us not be counted among those whom the Lord rejects and let us repent.
Good morning beloved
Good day to you
