We must have an undivided heart, without alternatives, without covetousness, entirely submitted to God.
The further we progress in our Christian walk, the less we live for ourselves.
We seek everything in God; he is our only support.
When our hearts are far from God, we are confused.
When our hearts are not pure, we are exposed to corruption and seduction.
When our hearts are far from the Lord, our sanctification and consecration also take a blow.
David was a man after God’s own heart, but in a moment of temptation and idleness, he saw a woman washing herself and lusted after her.
She was the wife of Uriah, his servant.
The Bible tells us that David got to know her, got her pregnant and had her husband killed in 2 Samuel 11.
Like us, David covered up his sin and reassured himself that he was safe, but he had forgotten that the eyes of the Lord always travel the earth and where there is sin, there is no longer the presence of God or the will of God.
In his conscience and his awakening to repentance, he then wrote this psalm from which Psalms, 51:12 – O God, create in me a pure heart, Renew in me a willing spirit.
Pray to totally submit your heart with joy to the Lord.
David poured out his heart before the Lord,
he acknowledges his sin,
he needs cleansing and spiritual restoration.
David not only begs God for forgiveness, but also for a radical change.
He knows that his heart is no longer right,
he knows that his heart is attached to desires,
he knows that his heart has selfish desires and perverse thoughts.
Only God can transform and renew it.
David seeks reconciliation with the Lord,
he is ready to obey him, to follow his path with joy.
He adopts an attitude of humility and humiliation.
Faced with such an attitude, the Lord always purifies us and renews his peace and joy in us.
We have an opportunity today to examine our hearts and confess all that leads us away from Yaweh.
Let God wash us so that we may be pleasing in his sight.
Beloved, let us strive for renewal and holiness.
David saw how evil his heart was and how he lamented.
He knew he could not change unless the Lord helped him.
Sometimes our minds are confused and disturbed by an action, which has a negative impact on us and those around us.
Let us ask today for a pure heart where we have erred,
and a clear eye and a firm mind to put right the relationships where we are in the wrong.
May the Lord help us in this process so that our hearts are truly bowed before the Holy One of Israel.
Good day to you all
