We can claim that we are children of light, we can claim that we are hallelujahs, we can even boast that we read our Bibles fluently or that we know how to sing hymns and praises to the Lord, we can cheer or stand to show how much we have been blessed by the teaching, we all agree but few people can stand up and decree without fear that she walks in the footsteps of the Lord.
And that is our whole problem.
Putting the word of God into practice is quite an exercise, we must draw strength from Jesus otherwise we will stumble, it takes courage, it takes maturity to respect the commandments of God.
Moses is an example.
To get the Israelites out of Egypt, he had to strictly follow what the Lord gave him as instructions, even when he entered the presence of the Lord, the Eternal stripped him of his support and broke him his hip.
The Lord needed a person who only counts on him, the Lord wants us to focus only on him and the day that Moses turned his gaze away from God, he let himself be distracted by his people and he gave in up in anger, he disobeyed, he hit the rock instead of him talking.
A Moses who knew how to go into the presence of God, a servant of God who loved God, an advocate who knew how to intercede for his brothers, he questioned God for any decision he wanted to make.
The word of God is a guide for man, it reveals the mysteries of God, we can receive the word and the cares of life distract us, the word that has been sown in us does not bear fruit.
Hearing the word of God is not enough, what changes our lives is putting the word of God into practice.
Let us be transformed, let’s leave our false reasonings, our lying thoughts that shield the truth.
Let us build our homes, let us build our lives on a solid foundation and ensure our happiness.
James, 1:22 – Practice the word, and do not just listen to it, deceiving yourselves with false reasonings.
Pray for the ability to practice the word of God.
Do not only listen with joy to the word, let us also translate it into action in all circumstances.
Let’s not delude ourselves anymore, let’s stop the seduction, let’s not be fools, let’s admit that we need Jesus Christ, we need him to touch us and fill us, we are lost out of his way and of its laws.
So let’s just go home, the Lord is waiting there.
