Very often we think we are wise because we think what we say is right and makes sense.
We also think so because others like us and this flatters us.
But let us know that it is the word of God that enables us to fathom this wisdom.
Does it come from above or from below?
The book of James invites us to show the fruits of this wisdom as a wise man.
Do we conduct ourselves well with this wisdom?
Let us know that speaking softly and calmly with a thoughtful air does not necessarily make us wise people.
Wisdom is imbued with patience, humility,
consideration,
gentleness.
We need to know how to act wisely, life’s situations demand it.
Sometimes we respond quickly with our emotions, we want to defend our interests,
We want to prove others wrong.
In any case, James gives us advice, he helps us to discern the difference between true and false wisdom.
If we do not live in peace with others,
If we do not work to produce good fruit,
If we do not show favouritism among brothers and sisters,
Then we do not practice godly wisdom, we do not know the difference between good and evil.
James, 3:13 – Which of you is wise and understanding? Let him show his works by good conduct with the gentleness of wisdom.
Pray that your works demonstrate your degree of wisdom.
We think we have too much wisdom and intelligence, how do we know?
How do we measure them?
The fact that a person has made a discovery or an invention that has travelled the world does not mean that he or she holds the key to wisdom and intelligence.
It is God who fills us and gives us his grace to assert ourselves.
The verse goes on to say, if we see ourselves as wise, let us also have attitudes that please God.
Let us not trample on others,
Let us not belittle them,
Let us love them,
Respect them,
Honor them,
Encourage them.
It is in this atmosphere that others can see our wisdom because we do not give ourselves to pride and contempt.
Lord, give us to be wise in the wisdom that comes from you alone.
Give us the ability to hold your word as a shaker and lamp in the dark places of our lives.
Anoint us with your fragrance of goodness and may the glory be yours.
Good morning to all
Good day to you
