My Month Of Joy! Ps30:11

One day during David’s reign, he sent everyone to war, he stayed alone in the palace, yet he was the general, the warrior.
It is obvious that this king was a man who was always busy, so deciding to stay and rest must have provoked boredom and melancholy in him.
This is how idleness entered the scene and he found himself walking on the roof of his house.
In his relaxation, he sees a beautiful girl washing herself, he is seduced, he lusts, he flirts and he sleeps with her.
Bethsheba becomes pregnant and this is dangerous for the king’s reputation.
A solution must be found quickly because this woman is the wife of his servant Uriah.
To cover up his sin, he devises a strategy and hands over his lover’s husband.
Uriah dies and David is relieved.
The psalmist is the king, he is accountable to no one.
In any case, his hands are dirty, everyone knows that killing is not a problem for him, even the Lord knows that shedding blood is normal for him.
So for this king, Uriah’s death will be considered like the others and he had no remorse.
Except that God does not agree with the king, it is possible to pass the sponge over the other deaths but not that of Uriah.
David, you know it’s wrong, you know it’s sin.
*You’ve coveted what’s not yours and you want to cover it up.
*For this time you must know that I’ve seen and I’m not about to let go, you must be punished.
*You may be the king but it’s not for you to decide who lives and who dies.
This is how Nathan the prophet is going to tell the king that God is not happy.
What interests us this morning is the fact that David immediately went to bed to repent, to beg God for his lightness, to ask forgiveness.
And the Lord in all his goodness will look at the desolation in David’s heart and forgive him.
We are talking about the forgiveness of sins this day.
We are talking about the grace that the Lord gives us whenever we fall.
We want to talk about forgetting, forgiving, cleansing our faults.
David killed Uriah, yet it is forbidden by God to kill.
But what about us?
What have we done?
We have lied or given false testimony.
We have stolen or conspired against our brothers.
We have jealously, coveted, envied and ended up in the dirt.
But the Lord wants to forgive us.
He wants to relieve us.
He wants us to know that it is possible to return to him and he forgives us.
Romans 4:8 – Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute his sin.
Rejoice in the remission of your sins.
We are secure and content in God when the Lord forgives us.
It means that we are carefree, healthy because all is well between God and us.
In any case, we had better be happy.
The Lord is faithful.
He will make our joy perfect.
