My Month Of Gifts! Ps37:4

Judges 13 tells us the story of Manoah whose wife was barren.
One day, an angel comes and promises her a son and to this promise are attached instructions.
On the mother’s side, she must not drink wine or strong liquor, nor eat anything unclean.
For the child, the razor was not to pass over his head under any circumstances because he was a child consecrated to God from his mother’s womb and his mission was to begin the deliverance of the people of Israel from the hands of the Philistines.
Samson came into the world and the spirit of God began to move him.
What we want to say this morning is that Samson became the general of the army, he was strong, he did not back down from anything, he was a giant of war and he was a judge in Israel.
His strength was a wonder to many,
His energy was indescribable.
As long as Samson kept the source of his power a secret, all was well.
Samson fought wars and got away with it regardless of the conspiracies.
We want to draw attention to one fact, Samson at one point thought he was Invincible and began to introduce levity into his ministry.
Pride took place in his life, he no longer knew how to hide and let the Lord fill him,
He no longer took the time to give thanks to the Lord for the battle he was fighting and winning.
In his complacency, he met Delilah, a daughter of the Philistines, and fell in love with her.
Samson, have you forgotten that the Philistines are your enemies?
*Have you forgotten your mission?
But since Samson knew he was in control of his choices, he did not back down.
This is how Delilah organized herself, took her time to get Samson to reveal his secret to her and one day he gave himself up, thinking he was confiding in his wife.
His hair, in which all his power was, was shaved off,
his eyes, which were his vision, were taken from him.
And Samson became a vegetable,
He who was on a firm throne was now a subject of entertainment, a prisoner.
The Bible also tells us that he took the opportunity the Philistines gave him to make a vow to the Lord,
to cry out to the Lord, to ask his forgiveness and to ask him to grow his hair so that he could fulfil his destiny even if he was going to die.
Samson leaned on the pillars on which the house stands.
He leaned on them and the house fell.
Samson killed more people when he died than during his lifetime.
All this is to say that when God gives a talent,
a gift,
an ability,
a potential in us.
It belongs to us and it is up to us to make good use of it.
The Lord invests in us, and it is up to us to work and watch to maintain it.
The Bible lets us know that the Lord knows us before we are formed in the womb.
Also, that he knows the plans he has for us.
This means that God knows what he is doing, he knows that if we work, the deposit in us will be exposed.
So Yaweh doesn’t have to regret the gifts he gives us no matter how imperfect we are,
our weaknesses,
our shortcomings.
He is God.
He is love.
He is perfect.
Romans, 11:29 – For God does not repent of his gifts and calling.
Bless the Lord who remains faithful in his gifts.
When the Lord gives, he has given but let us know that we are only stewards.
How we manage is also his concern.
So honour the King of kings.
Let us be thankful for all this privilege.
