My Month Of Justice! Mal4:2

When the happy news was announced, one of the king’s aides-de-camp mocked God.
He refused the grace of God proclaimed by his prophet.
Elisha said, “Listen to the word of the Lord! Thus says The LORD: Tomorrow at this time there shall be a measure of fine flour for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
The officer on whose hand the king leaned said to the man of God, “When The LORD makes windows in heaven, will such a thing happen? Elisha said, You shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.
There were four lepers at the entrance to the gate, and they said to each other, “What? shall we stay here until we die?
If we think of going into the city, famine is in the city, and we will die there; and if we stay here, we will also die. Let us go and throw ourselves into the camp of the Syrians; if they let us live, we shall live, and if they make us die, we shall die.
So they set out at twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians; and when they came to the entrance of the camp of the Syrians, behold, there was no one there.
And the Lord had made a noise in the camp of the Syrians, a noise of chariots and a noise of horses, the noise of a great army; and they said one to another, Behold, the king of Israel has taken the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to fight against us.
So they arose and fled at twilight, leaving their tents, their horses and their donkeys, the camp as it was, and fled for their lives.
When the lepers came to the entrance of the camp, they went into a tent, ate and drank, and took away silver, gold and clothing, which they went to hide. Then they came back, went into another tent, and took things out of it, and hid them.
Then they said to each other, “We are not doing right! This day is a day of good news; if we keep silent and wait until morning light, punishment will come upon us. Come now, and let us go and tell the king’s house.
So they went and called the guards of the city gate, and told them, “We have entered the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there is no one there, nor is there the voice of a man; there are only horses tied and donkeys tied, and the tents as they were.
The guards at the gate cried out, and they sent the report inside the kings house. The king got up at night and said to his servants, "I want to tell you what the Syrians are doing to us. Because they know that we are starving, they have left the camp to hide in the fields, and they have said to themselves, 'When they come out of the city, we will take them alive and go into the city. One of the kings servants said, “Let us take five of the horses that are still in the city – they are like all the multitude of Israel that is left there, they are like all the multitude of Israel that is dying out – and let us send them to see what is going on.
So they took two chariots with the horses, and the king sent messengers after the army of the Syrians, saying, “Go and see.
They went after them as far as the Jordan; and behold, the whole road was full of clothes and things which the Syrians had thrown away in their haste. The messengers returned and told the king.
The people went out and plundered the camp of the Syrians. They got a measure of fine flour for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.
The king had given custody of the gate to the officer on whose hand he was leaning; but the officer was crushed at the gate by the people, and he died, according to the word which the man of God had spoken when the king came down to him.
Then the man of God said to the king, “There will be two measures of barley for a shekel and a measure of fine flour for a shekel by this time tomorrow in the gate of Samaria.
And the officer said to the man of God, “When the Lord makes windows in heaven, will such a thing happen? And Elisha said, You shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.
So it happened, and he was crushed in the gate by the people and died.
Today, there are many scoffers.
For many, like the king’s aide-de-camp, the word of God has no value.
They trust in what is visible, wilfully ignoring what God reveals to them.
God could judge them as he did this man.
To mock God is to disrespect, dishonour or ignore him.
Galatians 6:7 – Make no mistake: God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Deny to sow the seeds of injustice.
Let us not think that we can handle the bad things we do, because we will certainly not be spared the consequences.
