My Month Of Awakening! Rom13:11

If we have to wish for anything in this second half of the year, it’s certainly to discern God’s presence.
It would be terrible to ignore it and miss this awareness.
God is present and he walks with us.
That’s God’s grace.
It doesn’t depend on our actions or our words, it’s just a free dimension of God’s love.
Jacob is Esau’s twin brother.
He’s supposed to be the younger brother, but one day Esau came back from hunting exhausted and worn out, and asked his brother for help so that he could be stronger.
But Jacob, who was more cunning, set conditions to offer him a plate of food and Esau ceded him the birthright.
Neglecting the spiritual significance of the promise, Esau lost all that was attached to the blessing of the first son.
Realising that his thoughtlessness will infringe even on his inheritance, anger sets in and Esau is determined to kill his brother.
This is how Jacob is forced to flee the family home and end up with Laban, his uncle.
At some point in our lives, we can find ourselves in the midst of despair,
our lives can take shocks that turn us upside down,
we can even lose our bearings and stop believing that anything is possible.
In our discouragement
our desire to give up, our disgust with life, we need one thing,
relaxation,
rest.
No matter where we find this little moment of respite, it is profitable for us.
And this is what happened with Jaco, he lay down in a deserted place, tired and downcast, he took a stone for his bedside and had a dream.
*And behold, a ladder stood upon the earth, and the top of it reached unto heaven. And behold, the angels of God went up and down on the ladder.
*And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord, the God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac. I will give the land on which you lie to you and to your descendants.
*Your seed will be like the dust of the earth; you will spread out west and east, north and south; and all the families of the earth will be blessed in you and in your seed.
*Behold, I am with you, and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you into this land; for I will not forsake you, till I have performed what I have said to you.
Genesis, 28:16 – Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “The Lord is in this place, and I didn`t know it.
Pray that the Lord will grant you to discern his presence.
How many of us have found ourselves in God’s presence without knowing it?
Jacob was more than surprised to find that, despite his past and his liabilities, God was there with him, speaking to him, assuring him and reassuring him.
God knew Jacob as a deceiver, but he was always ready to show him grace.
Jacob had no idea that God could be in a desolate place like this, but God revealed himself to him and changed his life.
What interests us here is that Jacob is awakened from his sleep.
It’s a situation we all have in common.
To awaken from sleep To regain alertness, attention, active listening, the senses alert and the heart moving.
Once clear-headed,
eyes cleansed of sleep,
the body straightened,
he confirms his dream, calling the place Bethel, the “House of God”, which is not a building, but God’s presence, God’s sanctuary.
So it’s our responsibility to keep watch, to recognise the place that is Holy,
to be sensitive to God’s presence.
Good day to you all
Good day to you all
