When David and his men arrived at Ziklag on the third day, the Amalekites had invaded the south and Ziklag. They had destroyed and burnt Ziklag,
and had taken captive the women and all the people who were there, both young and old. They didn`t kill anyone, but they took everything and set off again.
When David and his men came to the city, behold, it was burnt, and their wives, their sons, and their daughters were carried away captive.
So David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept until they could weep no more.
David’s two wives had been taken captive, Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail of Carmel, Nabal’s wife.
David was greatly distressed, for the people were talking about stoning him to death, because they were all bitter in their souls, every one because of his sons and daughters. But David took heart in the Lord his God.
He said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Bring me the ephod: Bring me the ephod. Abiathar brought the ephod to David.
David inquired of The LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And the LORD said to him, Pursue; for you shall overtake, and deliver.
Beloved, the enemy may have invaded our home while we were away or while we were asleep.
He stole everything we had, everything precious.
But as long as we have made the decision to go forward, the Lord will never abandon us,
he will never abandon us.
We can overcome all trials if we behave like David and his men,
if we don’t spend all our time weeping over our losses, but if we refuse to compromise and take the decision to encourage ourselves in the Lord and to recover everything.
We must learn to rely on the Lord and to go and get what we need for our celebration.
This text teaches us that God is always ready to help us if we trust in him,
he is always ready to restore us if we call on his name.
He is always close to us,
he is always near, he is not wavering,
he is not unstable like us.
He knows how to strengthen us when we are weak,
He knows how to encourage us when we are broken or disappointed,
He knows how to wipe away our tears when everyone has turned their back on us.
He knows how to protect us from the traps of the enemy…
To do this, we must cling to the Lord and his word.
It is the revelation of the Lord that motivates us and gives us victory in any battle.
If God is with us, who will be against us?
Anyone can stop believing in us, but God, who is our strength, comforts us and guarantees us that he will be with us at all times.
So what can men do to us?
2 Thessalonians, 3:3 – The Lord is faithful, he will strengthen you and keep you from evil.
Pray for a strengthening in the acquisition of Knowledge.
Three promises for the day.
His faithfulness is guaranteed.
His strength is in us.
His protection is committed.
Good morning family
Good day to you
