The Gospel of Mark 10 tells us about the healing of a blind mandator named Bartimaeus, who was sitting by the side of the road.
He heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth and cried out for help.
Many people tried to silence him, but Jesus was stopped by his insistence.
Jesus spoke up and said to him: *What do you want me to do to you?
Rabboni,” replied the blind man, “that I may receive my sight.
And Jesus said to him: *Your faith has saved you.
Immediately he recovered his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
A beggar is a needy person, a destitute person, a tramp.
And Bartimaeus is that type of person, the one we are without Christ.
Rejected, impure, enslaved, polluted by sin, blind, lost…
The only solution is the blood of Jesus to wash us clean and deliver us.
Bartimaeus is a limited life,
a miserable little life,
a square mentality,
the crumbs from the table…
But one day, Bartimaeus decided that his life had to change,
he decided to leave behind mediocrity,
he decided to leave the lack and he understood the time and the seasons,
he knew that the right time was available for his deliverance,
he knew it was time,
he couldn’t miss the appointment.
He had to seize the presence of God and enjoy the inheritance.
He asked the Lord for help and he was visited.
Beloved, how many people have cried out to us for a resource and we have ignored them?
How many people have been obstacles to our support of others and we have given in to their intimidation?
How many times have we failed to reach out or be generous when the need arose?
How many times have we forsaken the word of God, shunned evangelism out of fear, doubt, lack of faith so as not to be judged?
Oh, Lord forgive us.
We have passed by so many opportunities where you wanted to glorify yourself,
we refused to contribute to the joy of others in need.
Please Lord, forgive us.
We are now ready to proclaim our identity,
we are ready to defend the interests of the kingdom so that heaven may rejoice.
Never again will we miss out on the vision.
Job, 31:16 – If I denied the poor what they asked, If I made the widow`s eyes water,
Job, 31:17 – If I have eaten my bread alone, And the fatherless has not had his portion,
Participate in the happiness of the needy.
Lord, help us to remember the poor, the widows, the strangers and the orphans, and never let ourselves be an occasion for the downfall and humiliation of those in need.
Teach us to share what you give us, Lord.
Thank you Jesus
Good morning brothers and sisters,
Good day to you
