My Month Of Solidarity! Phil2:4

And David said, Is there yet any left of the house of Saul, that I may do him good for Jonathans sake? There was a servant of the house of Saul, whose name was Ziba, and they brought him to David. The king said to him, "Are you Ziba? He said, "Your servant! The king said, Is there no man left of the house of Saul, that I should show him the kindness of God? Ziba said to the king, There is still one of Jonathans sons who is lame of his feet.
And the king said to him, Where is he? Ziba said to the king, “He is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.
So King David sent and fetched him to the house of Machir the son of Ammiel in Lodebar.
And Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, Saul`s son, came to David, and fell on his face, and worshipped him. And David said, Mephibosheth! And he said, “Here is your servant.
And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will do thee good for Jonathan thy father’s sake. I will restore to you all the lands of your father Saul, and you shall always eat at my table.
Mephibosheth, although the king’s grandson, is in dire straits in a small, rotten town in the country.
He is a refugee and a cripple with a whole family killed by the war.
As the king’s grandson, Mephibosheth was an opponent, but David took care of him.
David seeks out Jonathan’s son for the sake of the covenant, restores his property and restores him, invites this teenager to his table and restores him to his royal dignity.
Beloved, this morning we are talking about doing good to someone in need,
we are talking about giving…
God wants us to show compassion towards the poor.
Let us not be indifferent to the fate of the weak,
let’s reach out to them,
help them up, share with them.
Make a provision from what you possess for someone in need.
Leviticus, 19:9 – When you reap the harvest in your land, you shall leave a corner of your field unharvested, and you shall not gather what remains to be gleaned.
Leviticus 19:10 – Nor shall you gather the clusters of grapes that remain in your vineyard, or the berries that fall from them. You shall leave it for the poor and for the stranger. I am the Lord your God.
Let us not be greedy,
let us not be greedy and let others enjoy what we have.
Let us allow the homeless to feed in our fields.
Let us be generous with our possessions.
God is calling us to more love, more mercy, more compassion…
We must help each other, because together we are stronger.
Good day to you all
Good day to you all
