The Lord pauses on an important subject.
He wants to remind us that lack of effort inevitably leads to failure.
We have seen people who, although intelligent
with everything they need to succeed,
from good families are lazy or even vagrant.
We can even see strong, vigorous men in society, but they don’t want to work, they’ve become beggars and wanderers.
We don’t want to do anything,
we want everything within our reach,
we want things to be easy.
Not only are we nonchalant physically, we are also nonchalant spiritually.
We are not nurturing our covenant with the Lord,
we are not nurturing our relationship with the Lord.
The Bible tells us that how long will we be lazy?
When do we stop slumbering?
A little sleep and poverty will surprise us.
We must ask ourselves if we are making the effort to pray faithfully,
we must ask ourselves whether our spiritual life is being nourished.
Every day we find excuses to encourage spiritual laziness,
we’re too tired,
we tell ourselves it can wait,
no one will notice and God will understand.
Laziness and negligence go hand in hand.
In the parable of the five talents, the Bible tells us about the talents that were given to servants according to their abilities.
The first two multiplied and prospered, while the third buried his talent.
He is the bad servant,
the lazy one.
Let us be aware that when the Lord entrusts us with gifts
it is so that we will use them,
He wants us to take the initiative, to run risks in order to develop.
The Lord’s reproach to us this morning is that we do not take care of the spiritual gifts we have received; we make no effort to increase what we have.
Proverbs, 13:4 – The soul of the sluggard has desires that it cannot satisfy; But the soul of the diligent will be satisfied.
Fast and pray to drive laziness out of
The lazy man wants results, but he doesn’t give himself the means to get them,
But he who is upright will prosper.
So let us drive laziness out of our midst.
Good morning
Good day to you
