Three Friends

There was once three friends who decided to take a trip to a far country. They packed items in their bags and set out. They walked for miles and arrived at a location where they encountered a huge body of water. Then Faith, the first one said “I don’t know how to swim but I believe that if I get in the water something will happen.” Hope the other friend said:”Hopefully there are no crocodiles in this water.” Meanwhile,  the third friend kept quiet,  observing his friends. Love which was his name finally opened his mouth and said: “Hum! I know how to swim, therefore since neither of you know how to,  I will have to carry you on my back and take you to the other side. Who wants to go first?”

Then Hope said “I will go.”  Love said “Now you know I cannot carry you and this big bag of yours. Go in and pick what is important for you,  and let’s go.” There were funny noises all around them, roars and animals’ calls.

Hope did as he was instructed, and Love carried him and off they went. Faith was left on the shore, he started praying and asking GOD for his safety and that of his friends.  It took a while for Love to get to the other side because Hope was fearful, shaky. They finally got there, Love put Hope down and headed back. He was tired and started to sink, not knowing what to do,  and not wanting to lose their friends,  Faith and Hope jumped into the water. Unbeknownst to them, GOD was watching them to see what they would do. Both had forgotten that they knew not how to swim as they fell in the water. They started to paddle,  Hope saying within “I watched Love making these movements as he was carrying me over.”

Love was struggling to stay afloat.

(Story to be continued)

Remember that love conquers all things.

1 Corinthians 13

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.
