My Month Of Gratitude! 1Thes5:18

At that time Berodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent a letter and a present to Hezekiah; for he had heard that Hezekiah was sick.
Hezekiah gave audience to the messengers, and showed them the place where his prized possessions were, the silver and the gold, the spices and the precious oil, his armoury, and all that was in his treasuries: there was nothing that Hezekiah didn`t show them in his house and in all his domains.
The messengers of the monarch who reigned in a distant land offered Hezekiah an unhoped-for opportunity to magnify the living God.
It was an opportunity for Hezekiah to speak of his mighty God who had prolonged his life when all hope was lost.
He forgot to be grateful to his God, pride and vanity took hold of his heart and he began to exalt himself.
He aroused the lust of the Babylonians by showing them the treasures with which the Lord had enriched his people.
The Bible says that the king showed the envoys the place where his prized possessions were, silver and gold, spices and precious oil, all his armoury, and everything that was in his treasures: there was nothing that Hezekiah did not show them in his house and in all his domains.
He did not do this to glorify God, but to show off to foreign princes.
Hezekiah did not consider that these men did not have the fear of God and that it was unwise to make them confidants about the wealth of the nation.
We simply have to understand that what we have is not ours.
We must not take our blessings and make fun of them to others.
We must not use our achievements or our glories as a source of pride.
So let us learn to bless the name of the Lord for all that he gives us and for what he is about to give us.
Romans, 11:36 – Of him, and through him, and for him, are all things. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen!
Recognize that the Lord is the author and owner of all things.
It is not even conceivable to act as if we are helping God or to think that what we have comes from our efforts.
Let us know that everything belongs to him and that we are only stewards.
So let us bless the name of our Lord for his extraordinary works in our lives.
Good day to you all
Good day to you
