Good morning,
When we want to achieve our ends, we make promises which exceed us to realize.
A very clear example: we are on the day before the presidential electionss, the candidates will make all kinds of promises, they will tell us things that we want to hear if it can give them access to the head of the country.
Even some pastors do it, they say things that God did not say, they offer a gospel wrapped in a poisoned gift to draw the crowd.
The Bible does not tell us that Jesus said it would be easy.
On the contrary, he told us that to be with him is to carry his cross, he left the choice to each of us by not promising us what would contradict him,
But the truth is that Jesus is already a sure promise.
With him everything is accomplished.
When he says, when he orders, the thing exists.
Our God is faithful and his word is a promise to those who love him.
He does what he said and what he promised.
So it’s our turn to respect our commitments, not to say things lightly.
And that’s what we spend time doing when everything goes wrong, when we look for something in vain, when desperation gnaws at us, we beg God, we cry, we make promises.
It is said * Lord, if you give me this, I will give you that*
We use honeyed words to seek to seduce God, to move him, to touch him, and when the thing is there, we erase our oaths from our heads and life goes on.
The lesson of this morning says pray to be prompt in giving to God whatever you promised him.
Matthew 5:33 – Again you have heard that it was said to the ancients, You shall not forswear yourself, but you will acquit the Lord for what you have sworn.
A warning!!
Let us know that God knows our hearts, he knows who is true and who is not.
He gives us because he loves us, so that we know that nothing is impossible for him and that we surrender to him.
Let’s stop playing with our Father, he is more serious and more certain than we think.
The word of God says that the power of life and death is under our tongue, so when we open it to make commitments and make alliances, let us be convinced ourselves of what we are doing.
The first rule to respect our legacy this month is to give to God while valuing our agreement.
We have had a lot of fun and at some point we have to ask ourselves and know what we want.
And what we want is in Jesus.
Have a nice day
