* Prudence * is like a quality, an attitude of one who foresees, who calculates the consequences of a situation, who does things with precaution, who is wise, who has a sense of discernment.
There are many of us who are naive, who think we have seen it all, heard it all with multiple experiences to tell, the world is full of uncertainties and deviousness and if we are not careful we will fall into deceptive nets.
To be cautious is to have a good strategy rather than a good capacity.
When we are careful, we avoid danger.
The bible tells us that the devil prowls around like a lion looking for someone to devour, this means that the enemy uses cunning to make the children of God to sin, he uses subtle means to deceive us as he did with Adam and Eve and still is today.
This is the reason why we must be careful despite the authority we have received from God.
The battle is not won with the quality of our weapons, it does not depend on a valiant hero but rather on our strategies and our wisdom.
The enemy cannot let go easily, let’s be on our guard keeping the word of God in our hearts.
We spend time wasting our gifts and talents, we choke on pleasing and impressing others.
Caution is asking the Lord how He wants us to use our gifts and obey.
Fools never discern other people’s words, they blindly believe and obey whatever they hear.
The scriptures tell us to be careful like serpents.
The snake is known for its prudence, it analyzes situations very quickly, either it stands up or it flees.
But the fact that God protects us, we let ourselves go to carelessness, to lightness.
The Lord is exhorting us this morning to be vigilant, use discernment when it comes to spiritual things.
Take the example of Nabal and Abigail.
Nabal always behaves with cruelty and insolence, he doesn’t take anything seriously, but he is rich.
He is Abigail’s ill-matched husband, it’s up to her to clean up her husband’s mess and it turns out that Nabal this time took David, the future king of Israel, anointed by Samuel to replace Saul.
On the way, David protects Nabal’s sheep and in return asks Nabal for food to feed his men in the desert, but he refuses.
Abigail is aware of this and wants to make amends for her husband, who is indifferent.
She hurries to prepare food to send to David, she is aware that her husband’s attitude to cause a lot of trouble and she puts the will of God ahead.
She goes to David to ask forgiveness for her husband.
David salutes his promptness, his courage and his prudence.
In Proverbs 13:21 – Woe haunts those who sin, But happiness rewards the righteous.
Fast and pray to remain prudent in all circumstances.
Death struck Nabal because he was inhabited by evil, he did not know how to honor others but his wife Abigail entered his destiny and became the king’s wife.
Prudence opens the doors to reward and keeps us in God’s plan.

Have a good day
