My Month Of Possession! Job42:12

Sharing, sharing, sharing…
This is what the Lord wants, and we know that we don’t know how to do it,
we want everything for ourselves,
we always want to feel superior, indispensable, honoured…
And as long as others eat our crumbs, that’s fine with us.
As long as others depend on us, we like it.
As long as we are the centre of the world, we have authority.
We want our wealth to position us, but we don’t want to align ourselves under the principles of prosperity.
Giving activates blessing,
Generosity attracts goodness.
How many times have we walked past a needy person and looked down on them?
How many times have we met someone in need and been insensitive to their request?
Have we ever decided to feed widows and orphans to honour the word of God?
We say we love the Lord but we refuse to share him with others,
We say we serve Yaweh unreservedly but we don’t take care of his house.
A story in the Bible reminds us so much of our behaviour every time the Lord wants to put his hand on what belongs to us.
This rich man came to Jesus,
he began to boast,
to show off his perfection, to find himself without spot or wrinkle, but Jesus, to test him, just told him to go and sell his possessions and go and share with the poor.
This man, like us, was not aware of his attachment to his money.
It was impossible to part with his assets,
to live in want was unimaginable, to give up his comfort was impossible, to face people’s gaze was to break him, so he chose the decision that perfectly expresses our hearts:
To turn away from God.
So, if we have too many clothes, let’s share with those in need,
If we have too many shoes or too much food, let’s not forget the poor.
Let us give them our support and our love.
It is by giving and obeying God’s word that the Lord makes his move in our case.
Leviticus, 23:22 – When you reap the harvest in your land, you shall leave a corner of your field unharvested, and you shall not gather what remains to be gleaned. You shall leave it for the poor and the stranger. I am the Lord your God.
Remember to share some of your possessions with the needy.
The Bible tells us to think of others.
Let’s remember not to scrape up our place of provision, let’s let others enjoy it.
Let the poor and strangers have a little of what we earn,
give them a smile and the Lord will be glorified.
Amen
Good day to you all
Good day to you
