My Month Of Gratitude! 1Thes5:18

We think that when we give to God, it’s an opportunity to blackmail him.
We think that saying thank you to God depends on our moods.
Let’s face it, that’s not true. Just because we give to God doesn’t mean the Lord will necessarily approve.
If we give from our last bags, we haven’t done anything.
If we give away our rubbish, we are adrift.
The story of Abel and Cain should teach us and lead us to reconsider the way we give thanks to God.
These two children were born into the same family, but when it came to giving thanks, they did not attach the same importance to their gesture.
Cain was a farmer, he gave what he had, fruit, but Abel, who was a shepherd, gave the first-fruits of his cattle.
The Bible tells us that Abel’s offering went up to God like a sweet-smelling perfume.
Why did this happen?
He valued his gift, he gave all the place and all the glory to the one who has all the power for him.
The firstfruits are our very first,
our first income,
our first wages,
it is our first land,
it’s our first interest,
it’s our first mobile phone…
Abel knew that our God is Alpha, we must give him everything first for him to bless us. Let’s not give of our leftovers.
A woman gave of her coins and Jesus accepted because it was all she had, it was her heart that was pure, honest, whereas all those who brought their million were not favourable because the gesture carried seduction and the appreciations of men.
Leviticus 22:29 – When you offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the LORD, you shall make it acceptable.
Pray that your offerings will be pleasing to God.
When we decide to give to God, let us do so with love and gratitude so that the Lord will be pleased.
Not everything we give pleases God, so be careful…
