My Month Of Mercy! Lc1:50

The fact that the Lord promises us mercy in this month in no way obliges him or contradicts him.
He is God,
he cannot be manipulated.
He has his own criteria for mercy.
It doesn’t depend on our sins
or our social conditions,
or our abilities.
When God’s heart has chosen us
it’s simply magnificent.
Let’s look at the story of Jacob and Esau.
Two children born on the same day,
from the same womb,
brought up by the same parents,
in the same home, but with two different destinies.
The Bible tells us that the Lord warned Rebecca that the lesser would be subject to the greater.
And it was at birth that the war began, one sent out the hand but came second.
One was valiant, hard-working, active and was loved by his father and the other was heavy, lazy, nonchalant and was loved by his mother.
One day, when Esau had returned from the hunt exhausted and hungry and needed strength for what lay ahead, his brother Jacob refused to give him anything to eat,
his brother Jacob refused to give him anything to eat and made one condition: that Esau give up his birthright.
In his laxity, Esau swore to Jacob that he would give it to him.
So when it came time to release the blessing, Jacob and his mother embezzled the inheritance and Esau was left with nothing.
The question we need to consider is that Jacob acted badly towards his brother and fled, but God still said that he loved Jacob and rejected Esau.
Why did he do this?
Here’s the answer in
Romans, 9:15 – For he said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.
Fast and pray that the Lord will always have mercy on you.
There is no motivation outside God’s will that determines his decision to show mercy and compassion.
This verse is a conversation between God and Moses.
Moses was negotiating to see the glory of God,
God explains to Moses that it will be impossible for him to contemplate his divine person, but that there is an alternative that will partially satisfy his desire.
Beloved, it is God who decides who will benefit from his mercy and compassion.
It is up to us to be attached to the Lord in order to benefit from his favours.
