The servants of Sennacherib spoke again against The LORD God, and against Hezekiah his servant.
And he sent an insulting letter to The LORD, the God of Israel, saying against him, As the gods of the nations of other lands could not deliver their people out of my hand, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver his people out of my hand.
The servants of Sennacherib cried out with a loud voice in the Jewish language, so as to frighten and terrify the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, and so that they might flee from the city.
They spoke of the God of Jerusalem as of the gods of the peoples of the earth, made with hands.
So Hezekiah the king and Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, prayed about it and cried to heaven.
Then The LORD sent an angel, who killed all the mighty men, the princes and the chiefs, in the camp of the king of Assyria. So the king returned to his own land in shame. He went into the house of his god, and there those who had come out of his bowels overthrew him with the sword.
So the Lord saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all, and he protected them against those who were around them.
When we feel oppressed by our enemies, when the pressure of the world wants to disown us, when the storm blows hard and the sea is violent, when the mockery of our friends has suffocated us and we can no longer present ourselves before others.
All we can do is enter God’s presence,
We can only call on the name of the Lord,
We can only trust in the Lord.
Hezekiah had no support, he had nothing and no one to help him.
Tortured by the king of Assyria, Hezekiah had no choice but to hide in Yaweh,
He knew that his God would never leave him nor forsake him.
He held on despite the intimidation of his adversary.
So beloved, if we are still wondering whether our Dad is listening to us,
if we complain because things aren’t the way we want them to be, we’ve come to tell ourselves that we’re wrong.
God is attentive to everything that comes out of the mouths of his vessels.
Psalms, 34:16 – The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, And his ears upon their cry.
Give thanks to the LORD, who is attentive to the prayers of his children.
As long as we are upright and honest,
as long as we walk in the footsteps of the Lord, his eyes can never turn away.
And his ears are pressed to our mouths to hear the supplications of those who serve him.
All we have to do is draw close so that the blessing is with us all the time.
Good day to you all
Good day to you all
