Sometimes we need to be recognised for what we do.
It makes us feel good to know that we’re getting something back for our good works.
But that’s not always the case.
We’ve done good but they’ve forgotten about us.
We have made sacrifices but they have despised us.
We have paid the price to keep the kingdom stable, but they have not failed to disappoint us.
We helped them avoid the traps of the destroyer but they honoured and celebrated others.
Such is the case of Mordecai in the Bible.
While Mordecai was walking through the royal gates, he overheard two of the king’s eunuchs plotting to assassinate the king and he reported this to Esther and then to the king.
Thanks to Mordecai’s information, the attempt to assassinate the king was foiled and the conspirators executed.
After all this, it was Haman who was elevated in dignity, everyone had to bow the knee before him and prostrate themselves before Haman.
Mordecai was a Jew and therefore a child of God. He refused to compromise himself and this is how his ordeal began.
Haman decided to have all the Jews killed.
Esther fasted for three days to gain favour in the king’s eyes.
When Haman was about to carry out his plan to kill Mordecai, the Lord took away the sleep of the Jews.
The Lord took the sleep from the king’s eyes, and he could not sleep.
He asked for the book of the annals to look through and realised that Mordecai had not been rewarded.
Beloved, when we fear the Lord and honour his name, there is a record of our efforts.
Let us not think that what we do for the Lord or our neighbour is wasted.
Our gifts, our offerings, our seeds, our prayers, our energies, our thirst for the word – in short, everything we spend for the good of others is not collected.
The Lord opens the book of remembrance at a specific time, and it will be our turn to benefit from it.
The book of remembrance is not in the hands of men, but God himself is in control, it is in his hands.
It is Jesus Christ, whom we adore and serve with love, who will open the door for us.
The devil can challenge or delay the opening of our book, but he does not have the power to cancel it.
The enemy can discourage us, keep us in sin, draw us away from God’s presence to accuse and dominate us, but let us be persevering, firm, joyful, constant in God’s service so that we do not lose our rewards.
Let’s stay focused, Jesus is opening the book of remembrance this very day and we will enter a new season.
Genesis, 21:1 – The Lord remembered what he had said to Sarah, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised.
Pray that the Lord will open this book of remembrance for you.
Sarah thought it was no longer possible, that her miracle could no longer take place, that God’s promises in her life were an illusion until the Lord showed her that he was watching over his word to fulfil it.
God’s remembrance is real, God’s grace is powerful.
When the Lord is at work, he does things that eye has not seen, ear has not heard and everything that has not yet risen in a man’s heart.
It’s our turn to be celebrated and comforted.
God remembers each one of us….
Good morning to you all
Good day to you
