Beloved, we think that having possessions means being wise,
We think that running a business makes us wise,
We think that being married means being a virtuous woman,
We think that having children means being sure of their future,
We think a lot of things because we dwell on our human reasoning,
we think that everything depends on our abilities and skills.
The Bible tells us that Solomon was David’s heir, which means that he was very rich because he was the new boss of the throne.
He could do whatever he wanted,
do as he pleased, rule as he pleased.
But this king understood that his wealth was not enough, his comfort and security were only part of his happiness.
Solomon did not stop at what his eyes saw,
he knew he had another need,
he was aware that this lack could disturb his stability,
He recognised that at the level of responsibility he had been given, he absolutely had to connect to a fresh anointing.
As Solomon looked around him, he realised that he could destroy everything if the Lord did not clothe him with this potential.
This is how the son of the psalmist found himself going to make burnt offerings at Gibeon on the altar.
The one who sat on the throne knew he was young and inexperienced and he was in charge of a very large people, so he begged the Lord to give him an intelligent heart to judge the people, to discern good from evil.
We are talking about a man who according to carnal thinking would have said that he doesn’t expect anything from anyone because he has full powers.
Solomon looked into the spiritual to see that he needed the wisdom that is more valuable than anything he possessed.
If we want something, we must show the Lord what our hearts desire.
This is what meditation tells us.
Place more value on wisdom and strive to acquire it.
Proverbs, 16:16 – How much better to acquire wisdom than gold! How much better to acquire intelligence than money!
When we have depth, we also know how to obtain and enter into our glory.
Having gold and silver is no guarantee of good management, nor is it a guarantee that our wealth will last.
Let us run for what is valuable,
Let us fight for what is precious,
Let’s go for what is valuable.
And it is God who gives,
it is a gift from him alone,
it’s a trademark of our creator that we can have if we surrender to the grace that he is.
