Abraham in his old age received a recommendation from the Lord.
If the Lord required this man of faith to remain upright, it means that he had a problem.
Abraham was surely a man who could easily be corrupted, he was one of those who find shortcuts to get out of it even if it is not necessarily right.
The Lord wanted to deal with Abraham but he wanted him pure, mature.
This is the same man who lied to protect himself, he said his wife was his sister. He was ready for another man to take his wife Sara to preserve his life.
Abraham lied to have peace, to be seen and this is how we behave every day.
We tell many lies in our schools, in our homes, in our businesses, even in our churches.
Integrity presupposes good conduct, a certain honesty and sincerity.
To continue our story, Sarah was a very beautiful woman and Abraham valued her life.
Because of their lie, King Abimelech desired and took Sarah as his wife.
The Bible tells us that the Lord came to speak to the king and forbid him to touch his servant’s wife.
Abimelek was ignorant and that is why God himself took it upon himself to intervene so that the disorder did not disturb his plan.
Integrity comes from our character, from our heart, from the depth of our being.
Walking in integrity imposes complete trust in the Lord.
As a child of God, let’s not take shortcuts on the path of our faith.
Abraham went with his servant Hagar because he wanted to fulfill God’s promise in his life in his own way.
For God to show us his omnipotence, we have to change our identity, to leave from Abram to Abraham, from Sarai to Sara, we have to let the word of God live in us.
2 Kings 22:7 – But they will not be called to account for the money given into their hands, for they act honestly.
When we are faithful, everyone trusts us.
No one doubts our morality, things are as we say because our words carry the life and mark of the Lord.
Lord, teach us your ways.
